Those members of the audience who were into percussive dance were obviously in seventh heaven with this innovative show.
Their performance was essentially folk music and dance all woven around percussion. Hannah James’ accomplished clog dancing was wonderfully complemented by the creative percussion of Andras Des on drums (etc.) together with Marti Tarn on bass guitar and Kate Young on fiddle, Kate also backed up Hannah’s vocals.
One highlight of this theatric performance was an item of “body percussion” performed by Hannah and Andras as a “percussive duet”; truly creative and highly appreciated by the audience in a packed house.
It will be fascinating to see what Hannah James comes up with next as she develops her JigDoll theme even further.
