John McCusker, the Scottish folk musician, record producer and composer, included Peak Concerts in his 25th Anniversary Tour, much to the delight of the packed Whitworth Banqueting Hall.
McCusker’s highly professional, stellar line up featured Andy Cutting on accordion, Innes White on guitar and vocals, Toby Shaer on flute and whistle with Adam Holmes leading on some very smooth and powerful vocals and guitar.
This was a classic Celtic folk evening full of lively Scottish jigs and furious reels, many from their new album.
Adam Holmes periodically calmed down the performance with a slow sonorous ballad or two, then back to the Scottish dance music.
All this was bound together with McCusker’s unique and sensitive playing on the fiddle and was much appreciated by the enthusiastic audience.
